Director, Accounting & Financial Management program

Message from Director

Hello “aspiring professional” and welcome to the Accounting & Financial Management (AFM) program website.  I invite you to review the website and learn more about our program, our students, our staff, our faculty and our alumni.  The AFM program is designed to develop innovative professionals by combining the necessary knowledge, skills and professional behaviour in a learning environment that integrates skills in learning to learn.  In a world of constant and accelerated change, technical knowledge can have a limited “shelf life.”  Acquiring skills in learning to learn will be very valuable in all aspects of your professional and personal life.

Our graduates develop the ability to integrate the content they have learned, understand how their recommendations fit into the overall business strategy and effectively communicate the results. Professional capabilities such as leadership and collaboration, thinking and problem solving skills, written and verbal communication and strong ethical conduct are foundational for any professional and are therefore key elements of our program.
When our students graduate I ask them to:

  • Dream Big
  • Find a way to make a difference in their lives
  • Always be open to learning experiences
  • Be humble and learn from others, and
  • Live a life of integrity in all that they do

Our program sets the stage for them to achieve these goals.

Welcome!

AFM
